My Review of "The Fountain"
"The Fountain" tries to invent its own genre. There was a lot of attention paid to the visual elements, effects, and cinematography, while the characters are left to act their way into oblivion. The movie is drenched in fantastic imagery that inevitably recalls Stanley Kubrick and the antiseptic poetry of "2001". If you like that sort of drug-induced storyline, then you will love this movie. I do not, and so I give this movie a 3. If it wasn't for the spellbinding special effects, I would give it a 1.
